File Categories

General concept : File

In Cactusoft Construction, files are grouped by file categories. These help distinguish installation plans from photos of work on a worksite and so on. They are inserted into attachments and filed in the project. Here is the list of file categories found by default in the application:

  • Engineering plan

  • Labor information

  • Attachment

  • Installation plan

  • Site sheets

When the foreman punches the timesheet with a photo, it will end up in the file category: Site sheet. You can consult in Worksite schedule of the module Site planning.

You can create your own file categories. Here are the elements found when creating or modifying a file category:

File category name

This information will be found when you use the files.

Acronym

This field is optional, you can give an acronym to your file category in order to distinguish the other categories.

Description of file category

You explain the file category in detail.

Optional name

By activating the button, you make entering the file name optional.

Position

This is to determine the position of your category in the file category list view.

Quality

Resolution

It is to define the quality of the image when you upload your files to this category and it determines the size of it. You have :

  • Original

  • High

  • Average

  • Low

File quality

You have a level to indicate whether you want to have poor or original quality for the image put in this category.

Blurry Document Detection

By activating the button, you want to detect if the document is blurry. Your employees will receive a warning when the file is blurred. They can take the photo or send it even if it is blurry. You can determine the level of blur detection, you can indicate whether you want to be strict or tolerant.

Workforce Documents

This behavior allows files in this category to follow with the schedule submission.

Represents plans or drawings and presents only the most up-to-date version of this category

This behavior allows you to consult previous versions and display the most recent version in its category.

Represents plans or drawings

This behavior indicates that these are plans or drawings in site planning. The worksite will have a paper clip icon to indicate that it has plans or drawings for the project.

Represents photos of worksite timesheets

This behavior displays files linked to timesheets and allows you to receive a site report in the form of a PDF file.

Permissions

THE permissions are settings for files that are assigned to a specific role. For example, the person who has the foreman role could modify the file in this file category (example: attachment) while the person who has the worker role can only consult the file in this category (example: attachment).

Read

People can only read or view files in this category.

Send

People can only submit files in this category.

Manage

People can only edit files in this category.

Notification

People receive notifications when a file is put in this category.
