In Cactusoft Construction, the site is the main element in site planning and worker scheduling. This makes it possible to plan working time slots for labor work. The site is planned for a specific project, a given date and a single work team. When a worksite is added to the schedule, we do not necessarily know the workers who will be assigned to it. You can assign workers later.

The worksite

The worksite boxes on the schedule present a lot of information in a small space. Here is the content in a box on the site:

• The name of the site appears first

• The state of the worksite then appears and affects the color of the worksite

• The customer's name, contact telephone number and site address are displayed in the middle of the box

• If you have added a note concerning the worksite, it will be displayed

• The name of the project manager, the project number and the names of the workers appear at the bottom of the box

• The start time of the worksite and the calculation for the time per worker appear last

• Pictograms facilitate the identification of qualifiers for worksites

• Two sites which are next to each other for the same project and which have the same activity will become a site sequence

Worksite editor

The worksite page is made up of three main sections:

• The navigation is located on the left and is used to navigate through the different sections of the worksite. Here are the functions in navigation:

  • Information

  • Description of the workforce

  • Planned workers

  • File management

• The content is located in the center, it displays information and functions according to the chosen section

• The context is located on the right, it displays contextual information and suggestions (when applicable)

Section Information

This section specifies the site information and two areas separate the information. The first area is site information. This area allows you to choose or create a project linked to the worksite. When you fill in or modify the fields in the project, the information will appear in the content display:

• Customer name

• The customer code number

• The name of the project manager

• The name of the contact with their role(s)

• The purchase order number

• The work order number

• The location of the worksite

• The geolocated map with Google Maps with the address of the worksite

Zone 2 (Logistics) helps specify the particular conditions for this site. This information may differ between sites of the same project. Here are the fields available to you:

• The type of activity found on the worksite

• The number of workers for the site

• The time the worksite begins

• Duration of the construction day

• The need to subcontract a crane for the worksite

• The need to move forward the construction schedule if necessary

• Date to be confirmed

• The need to use a means of transport (truck, van, etc.) for the site

Section Description of the workforce

This section provides access to information regarding the workforce that accompanies all project sites. You can specify the labor description. This description is automatically found on the workers’ schedule, for each project site.

Section Planned workers

This section leaves room for planning workers for a job site, before even getting to the stage of assigning workers' schedules. Scheduling workers in advance has certain advantages:

• The statistics displayed at the bottom of the schedule are more precise if we know the exact composition of the teams

• When we have to plan worksites based on experienced workers who absolutely must be present to guide the other workers

• Ability to edit information for a specific worker

• If it has scheduled workers, they will be automatically assigned when creating the worker schedule

The main disadvantage of planning workers in advance is having to maintain planning following unforeseen events (for example: schedule shifts, absences, etc.). It is for this reason that Cactusoft Construction recommends leaving the list of scheduled workers empty and waiting until the workers' schedule is prepared. The section on the right allows you to quickly see if there is any necessary and specific training for the project. You can also see the assigned team in the schedule (provided the schedule is confirmed).

Section File management

This section allows you to consult all the attachments related to the site project. The files are presented by category, which allows you to quickly find the necessary information. The right section allows you to add files to the site.
